Gateway LT2106u

$500.00 Released October, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Buttons are surprisingly well-sized for a netbook - wide enough to retain the feel of a standard laptop. LED display is bright, clear and vivid - outperforms competitor models such as the HP Mini. Overall operations speed is fantastic - applications launch in a matter of seconds and full-signal internet surfing is very responsive.

The Cons:Glossy black exterior is prone to dust and fingerprints - requires cleaning several times a week with regular use. Touch pad is ultra-sensitive - frequently interprets normal cursor movement as zoom or scroll commands. Display interface is not customizable - users must choose one of three Stardock themes (additional themes available at $20 USD each).

The Gateway LT2106u is a 3G netbook being retailed by Verizon Wireless. It utilizes Qualcomm’s world-wide Gobi technology to deliver 3G data from Verizon. This means that to access the data, a contractual obligation to Verizon is required; this, however, results in a discount off the supposed $499.99 retail price.
